Otters

Although they glean their food from the ocean surrounding Galiano, they are actually River Otters. Being avid swimmers, it is not unusual to see them on the beach eating crabs, clams or small flat fish. If you are fortunate to be in the right place at the right time, you may see them pruning themselves in the seaweed covered rocks.
